Westwood has an incredible array of restaurants, from “everyday” establishments with terrific food yet reasonable prices, to incredible fine-dining choices for that special occasion. Here are a few of my favorites:
Pomodoro: Great, casual Italian family place. Always an excellent, satisfying, inexpensive meal. 1393 Westwood Blvd. http://www.pomodorowestwood.com/
Jaipur: Excellent Indian food — we go often. 10916 W. Pico, just West of Westside Pavillion mall. http://jaipurcuisineofindia.com
Poquito Mas: Healthy, fresh Mexican food , served fast, for hectic can’t-make- dinner nights. In the strip mall, 2215 Westwood Blvd., near Hollywood Video, corner of Olympic and Westwood. http://www.poquitomas.com/main.php
Feast from the East: A neighborhood tradition for over 25 years, delicious Chinese chicken salad, fried rice, pad thai noodles and sesame chicken. On 1949 Westwood Blvd, North of La Grange and South of Santa Monica. http://www.ffte.com/
Pink Orchid Bakery: North of Feast from the East, perfect little French/Persian bakery. Individual cakes are $1.50. Try the KuuKuu (dense spinach herb quiche) plate for an international breakfast sometime. 1927 Westwood Blvd., south of Santa Monica Blvd.
Tanino: Our favorite expensive “dress up” restaurant. 1043 Westwood Blvd, 2 blocks North of Wilshire. Glamorous, gorgeous, Old World ambiance. The food is always perfect. A great place to celebrate a special event! http://www.tanino.com/
